Fall Into Music!

Co-Sponsored by The Program in Music and Music Education and the Vice President’s Office for Diversity and Community Affairs.

You are invited to the sixth annual Fall into Music! Music Lessons for the TC Community taught in conjunction with Music and Music Education’s Teaching Applied Music (A&HM 6023) taught by lecturer, Jeanne Goffi-Fynn (Jcg21@tc.columbia.edu). Priority will be given to new participants. 

What this means: Eight (8) forty-five minute free lessons (with $25 administrative fee) in a variety of instruments. See below for current opportunities.

When: Mutually convenient times are arranged between students and instructors (Masters and Doctoral Candidates in the Program of Music and Music Education) from September through December 2013.  Please see agreement attachment for more details.

Where: 5th Floor, Horace Mann Hall

In the teacher’s own words:

Experience enjoyment in violin or viola!

Explore your musicality with woodwind lessons on saxophones, flutes, and/or clarinets, in addition to lessons on jazz, improvisation, and original song-writing.

Celebrate all genres of singing from classics, to opera, to Broadway and pop (several vocal opportunities).

Music lessons on clarinet at all levels. Focus will be on learning and experimenting with techniques to prepare and free students to play the styles they see themselves performing.

Beginner to Intermediate Musicianship / Music Theory / Ear Training: Have you ever wanted to learn to read music or to take the melodies in your head and put them on paper?

Applied Music Composition for those with musical experience or beginners, with focus in Art Music

I want students to appreciate the challenge of what they are doing, to have fun and enjoy music with violin.

Trumpet lessons! Skill level ranging from beginner to advanced in all styles.
