Graduate Assistant opportunities available in Student Engagement

Open to all Teachers College Graduate Students in the Music and Music Education Program:

Columbia_CollegeApply to be part of the dynamic team of Staff and Graduate Assistants in Student Engagement, serving undergraduate students in Columbia College and Columbia Engineering. Our Graduate Assistants each serve as primary advisors for approximately 20 student clubs and organizations and advise students with regard to leadership, programming, budgeting, policies and procedures by working collaboratively with student leaders in a mentorship/consultant capacity. The student organizations advised may include those in the following areas: Pre-Professional, Performing Arts, Media and Publications, Competition, Religious/Faith-Based, Political, Activist, and Service.

Graduate Assistants also work closely with staff members to assist in planning and implementing various programming initiatives, as needed, that fall within Student Engagement and the department of Undergraduate Student Life. Areas of program planning and development may include Leadership Development, Performing Arts, Campus Events, New Student Orientation, Alternative Spring Break, and Civic Engagement.

This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week with some evening and weekend hours. Candidates must be full-time graduate students at Columbia University, in a degree-granting program.
