Richard Pearson Thomas TC Faculty Recital Sunday 10/18/15 5 PM

You are cordially invited to a recital featuring the first complete performance of the song cycle Drum-Taps, by TC faculty member Richard Pearson Thomas to be performed in New York City in over 20 years.

The cycle, based on Walt Whitman’s poetry, was called, “a work that is appropriate to our time and yet another reminder of the folly and senseless destruction of war” by Judith Carman in the NATS Journal of Singing. Richard Pearson Thomas will be joined by baritone, Matthew Carey, who will be visiting from Arkansas State University. The program will also include Lee Hobby’s settings of Whitman poem, I Was There, as well as some of Thomas’ Cabaret songs.

Admission is free.
